Museum Reinhard Ernst, Wiesbaden, Germany
26.10.2025 – 22.02.2026
We at Kollektion888 are delighted to highlight the new exhibition at the Museum Reinhard Ernst — with particular attention to the participation of Berlin-based artist Jenny Brosinski. In Helen Frankenthaler moves Jenny Brosinski, Ina Gerken, Adrian Schiess, Frankenthaler’s pioneering chromatic experimentation enters into dialogue with contemporary strands of abstraction — and Brosinski’s reduction, her fearless treatment of material, line, and surface, emerges as a striking continuation of this lineage.
Jenny Brosinski (*1984, Berlin) responds to the heritage of Abstract Expressionism with large-scale canvases – unprimed textile grounds, spontaneous raw gestures, and a visual language that foregrounds openness, intuition, and immediacy. Together with works by Ina Gerken and Adrian Schiess, as well as selected – in part previously unseen — works by Helen Frankenthaler, the exhibition unfolds as a polyphonic conversation between gesture and precision, intuition and materiality, surface and space.
This exhibition offers access to one of the world’s largest private holdings of Frankenthaler’s work – and simultaneously demonstrates how potent and relevant abstract painting remains today. For all those invested in exploring the limits and possibilities of colour, surface, and abstraction: a visit is highly recommended. – Kollektion888, November 2025
